Submission Instructions
In an effort to manage the high number of submissions, we have developed a web registration
system for submissions. Please follow the instructions below precisely.
- Filling out the online submission form:
- Go to the online submission form.
- If this is your first visit, click "register", and fill in the requested information.
When completed, click "Register".
- After registration, you will be directed to the "Add New Submission" page. You may add
one submission per catagory, in up to three catagories.
- Please Note: The Spark Festival is not an anonymous submission.
- To add a new submission:
- Be sure you are on the "Add New Submission" page.
- Select the catagory for the work you are submitting. If you don't see the catagory,
you may have already added a submission in that catagory. (catagories that you have already
submitted to will not be shown until you delete the piece within that catagory.)
- After selecting the catagory, click "Add a Submission".
- Fill in all the requested information, being as specific as possible. Use the "comments"
area at the bottom for any suplimental information.
- Click "Add" when finished.
- After adding the piece, you will be directed to a confirmation page giving you a submission
code for that work. You will need to mark all your materials with this code.
- To edit or delete a submission:
- Return to the "Add New Submission" page.
- If you have already added a piece, you will see a drop-down menu near the top of the form
listing all submitted works and their submission codes.
- Select the piece you want to edit. You can then change any information by clicking "View/Edit",
or you can delete the piece completly by clicking "Delete".
- After you have filled out the online submission form:
- Mail all your materials to the spark festival, clearly referencing the registration code
on the front of all materials. No other paperwork is necessary with your submission.
- What do you send?
- Please note: Submissions do not need to be sent anonymously.
- Music:
Send all performance materials. This includes recordings (on CD, DAT, or ADAT) and scores (when applicable), and any supplemental material (tape parts, video, etc.).

Video:
Send DVD (NTSC format only), and any supplemental materials required for performance.

Papers:
(Standard and Short)
No materials need to me sent my postal mail as long as the abstract is submitted via the online submission form. Submitters who wish to send the full paper are welcome to do so.

Club Works:
Send audio and/or video of representative performance or demo.

Installations & Gallery Works:
Submit a detailed proposal of the project with documentation of a recent showing. If no documentation is available, submit a representative sampling of work.

Theatre or Dance Work:
Submit a detailed proposal of the project with documentation of a recent showing, including scripts if available. If no documentation is available, submit a representative sampling of work.

Spark Radio
Send a CD of a stereo work.
